I believe that each child should be celebrated for their uniqueness, and that early childhood education provides the foundation for the lifelong process of learning. Most of my adult life, I have been working with children as a preschool teacher in addition to running a program that provides early intervention. I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology, and I completed a dual master’s program in education. I was born and raised in a small town in Arizona and moved to Washington several years ago. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, participating in community events, and spending time with my husband, daughter, dogs, family, and friends. I am also looking forward to building quality relationships with the children, families, and staff here at Birch Tree.

  • Julie

I was born in Mississippi, moved to West Germany and eventually grew up in Spokane. I am a mom of two lovely girls, and a step-mom to two more wonderful girls. After working in the financial industry for the past fifteen years, I wanted to do something more meaningful with my career. I started volunteering at Birch Tree because my daughter attended the school, and soon got hired to be a full time teacher. I am thrilled to be part of such a fun, eclectic group of teachers and help make a difference in children’s lives every day!

I was born and raised in a small town called Dubno, located in the western part of Ukraine, but moved to Kent not long ago. I’m Ukrainian and love my country so much, but I’m really obsessed with USA , especially with people living here, they are so friendly and affable. I have a younger sister and cousins, I took care of them all my childhood, it was my favorite activity. Two years ago I received a Bachelor’s degree of international relations in Ivan Franko national university in Lviv. In my student years, I tutored English with children, and even then I realized that working with children is my mission. One of my passions is working with children and providing them an environment where they feel safe. Knowing that my job is to help kids achieve their full potential and to help them feel happier and better about themselves, brings a huge smile to my face and helps me sleep better at night.

Hi! I am so excited to be here with this amazing team! I know it may sound cliché, but teaching young children is my passion. Teaching is my hobby - and what I am happiest doing! I have taught ages 10 months - 12 years, but ages 3-6 will forever be my favorite! I have 6 years of experience in teaching young children, and I am looking forward to many, many more! My favorite thing about teaching is seeing the immediate difference a fun lesson can make in a child's life! I recently moved up to Washington from Idaho, where I grew up. In my free time you can find me exploring both here, and all the areas around us! I love a good adventure, and I am always looking to know your favorite spots around our beautiful state! I am a dog mom to a beautiful german shepard named Nugget, and I am very family oriented. I’m also a foodie, so if you've got any favorite spots to eat around here, let me know! I absolutely cannot wait to get to know you and your child, and watch them grow to their fullest potential!

  • Jules

Hi, I’m Ms. Jules! I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, and I went to college at a small liberal arts School in Southern California called University of Redlands. I graduated with honors and a B.A. in Anthropology and French Language with an English minor. I have worked with children of all ages, ranging from infants to college students. I tutored grade school and kindergarten students while in college and was a TA in several anthropology courses. After graduating college in the midst of COVID, I spent a year teaching English at a high school in France, and when I returned to the U.S., I made the move to Seattle. I have always known I wanted to teach, and I believe that working with students and children of any age is one of the most fulfilling and rewarding things a person can do. I am so excited to be working here at Birch Tree Academy and I can’t wait to see what this chapter has in store!
