Spring Construction Update

Hello All,

Happy springtime! We are excited to be moving along with construction of our beautiful new Canyon Park and Woodinville schools! It is so fun to see something come up from the ground that will soon be filled with energetic kiddos and families. The buildings are starting to take shape and we want to keep you up to date.

Canyon Park

Construction is moving forward on schedule (yay!). We just visited the site and the foundation is complete, the walls are going up and the building shell is slated to be complete in July. With our interior construction set to be done in the fall, we still anticipate opening in the October/November time frame. As construction progresses, we will keep you up to speed and provide more accurate dates when available.

On the enrollment front, batches of invitations have been going out each week and we appreciate everyone's timeliness in responding. The school is approximate 50% full but there are still spaces available for each age group. We are continuing to invite groups of families to enroll each Monday so if you have not yet received yours, thank you so much for your patience. Don't worry, you haven’t missed out.

The Foundation of the Canyon Park School

Woodinville

Construction of the Eastrail Flats development that our school will be a part of is also on schedule. The school is on the back side of the building, opposite NE 175th St, which should mean little road noise and foot traffic--good things to help little minds grow! I was able to visit the site recently and snap a few pictures of the space where the school will be. As you can see, the classrooms will have big bright windows with tons of natural light. We need every bit of sunshine that we can get in the PNW.

Know someone who might be interested in enrolling in the Woodinville school? They can sign up here: https://www.birchtreeacademy.com/newschools. As with the Canyon Park school, invitations to enroll will go out in order of signup date so the earlier the better.​

We are currently in the process of getting a construction schedule in place but our current estimate is a May 2025 opening. Enrollment will probably start in the fall of 2024. Why is it opening later than the Canyon Park school despite the fact the construction looks so much more complete? The Woodinville school is part of a larger development and that means our schedule is linked to that of the larger project. Even if our construction were complete today, we still wouldn’t be able to open until the entire building is complete because things like fire alarms and electrical connections would be missing. Rest assured that we are doing everything we can to get the school open as soon as it is physically possible. Reading in circle time is so much better than managing construction projects!
